installing kmod-video-gspca-ov534

  • Is there some reason why the install failed?

    root@Omega-2376:/# opkg install kmod-video-gspca-ov534

There seems to be a newer version of some packages installed in the latest firmware:

  • @Kenneth-Lim I find it slightly surprising that you are getting this message.
Doing opkg info kmod-video-gspca-ov534 indicates that it is dependent on kernel version 3.18.20-1
Yet using uname -r shows that the Omega (with the latest updates) is on kernel version 3.18.27
I would have thought that a package would be installable with a later version of the kernel.
Maybe the Omega people can clarify this.

If you wish, you could try opkg --force-depends install kmod-video-gspca-ov534 which will cause the installation to be done despite mismatched dependencies. However, in general it is not necessarily safe to use --force-depends in case there really are some incompatibilities.

  • Thanks for the hint! Sadly doesn't work...wondering if the latest update caused this.
