Omega2+ Amber LED doesn't even light

  • I just received my Omega and expansion board and I followed the instructions:
I assembled the Omega in the expansion board. I powered it with my laptop ,
turned on the switch and the LED on the expansion board turns on RED for a few seconds, then
it turns off. The LED on the Omega doesn't even blink.

I don't know what to do. I tried another cable, another USB port, but I get the same result.

Could it be that Omega arrived damaged ?

  • Have you tried using a power brick instead of the laptop? Not all USB ports are equal.

  • @Brad-Buskey

Yes, I have tried but the result is the same.
    LEDs do not light up.
And nobody has provided a reasonable cause yet.

  • I tried the following from an Onion article related to the leds but nothing worked:

(for example the mod-ledtrig-morse couldn't be installed)

opkg update && opkg install mod-ledtrig-morse

    echo morse > /sys/class/leds/onion:amber:system/trigger

    cat /sys/class/leds/onion:amber:system/trigger

    echo Hello, Onion > /sys/class/leds/onion:amber:system/message

    root@Omega-12D9:~# cat /sys/devices/platform/leds-gpio/leds/onion:amber:system/delay 50
    echo 100 > /sys/devices/platform/leds-gpio/leds/onion:amber:system/delay

    echo default-on > /sys/class/leds/onion:amber:system/trigger

    gpioctl dirout 1
    echo 100 > /sys/devices/platform/leds-gpio/leds/onion:amber:system/delayecho 100 > /sys/devices/platform/leds-gpio/leds/onion:amber:system/delay
