Upgraded O2+ devices won't complete ssh connections

  • Riddle me this...

I just upgraded (oupgrade -f -l) two Omega2's. Now both of them won't accept ssh connections.

Looks like the F/W upgrade went well ...

However, the devices won't complete a ssh connection. Here are several attempts.

    bscott@aries:~$ ldev
    Device [ omega-fdf5 ] is off line at IP_ADDR [ 192.168.1.110 ]
    Device [ omega-24d5 ] is off line at IP_ADDR [ 192.168.1.111 ]

    Device [ omega-d749 ] is on line at IP_ADDR [ 192.168.1.114 ]
    Device [ omega-d769 ] is on line at IP_ADDR [ 192.168.1.115 ]
    bscott@aries:~$ ssh root@omega-d749
    root@omega-d749's password:
    Connection to omega-d749 closed.
    bscott@aries:~$ ssh root@192.168.1.114
    root@192.168.1.114's password:
    Connection to 192.168.1.114 closed.
    bscott@aries:~$ ssh root@omega-d769
    root@omega-d769's password:

    bscott@aries:~$ ssh root@192.168.1.115
    root@192.168.1.115's password:
    Connection to 192.168.1.115 closed.
    bscott@aries:~$

The ldev program is nothing more than a shell script that looks for Omega2 devices in the local dhcpd config file to get their IP assignments, then pings them to see if they are willing to play. As you can see the two troubled units are responding to pings.

The failed password response is quite different.

Has anyone seen this issue on b201?

    --Bill

  • @William-Scott Upgrade from b200 to b201 works well - so I'm afraid this is not an Omega2+ problem.

I looked at the output of the Serial Console to see what's going on ...

So this was almost five (5) minutes (?!).

I made the same upgrade process on ssh - successfully.

  • @György-Farkas Interesting. Thanks!

When I get home I'll reconfigure them such that I have console access then fix them.

    Thanks again!

  • @György-Farkas This problem was never figured out. Had to re-flash both devices to again make them accessible. However, you made a point about timing. I wasn't as patient as you. As such the first access to each device "post" upgrade wasn't actually post upgrade. This put both devices in some sort of munged up state.

I'll attempt to force upgrade again, but this time chill out until the upgrade is over.

    thanks!!
