It is plugged into my Laptop USB using the small USB socket on the Omega nothing in the large USB socket.

Do you mean the Putty terminal?
login to root with password admin? then no this does not work
If not How do I get the console

I have another problem in that I do not get any WiFi (see earlier post)
But if I use Putty and start the Omega through Com3 I get this

Password?
I am trying to login to the Omega board using Putty, does anybody know what the password should be
I tried the password from Getting Started - "onioneer" but does not work for root. -
