@haythem The problem when you are trying to debug for hours is that you end up not seeing what you need to, and only seeing what you don't need to. So I am trying to help you work logically through the issues so they can be resolved. I've worked on hundreds of Omega2 so please follow what I ask you to do, provide the information I ask for and then I expect everything will be resolved. Let's start from scratch. Take a breath, forget what you think you know and just step through things as I asked. How did you perform a factory reset without a dock? I suspect your console issue is the handshaking, so please post the putty connect screen (as I asked) so I can take a look at it.

@kevin-Wagner Most probably the USB port of your computer can not provide enough current. Try another USB port, another computer or try to power your Omega with a good 5V 1A (min 500mA) (wall) adapter. Good luck!

Was having the same issue here this morning. Tried a few times, but register with cloud allowed me to submit...then did nothing. Just now tried again, and it seems to have worked!

Unable to detect Onion: wifi and serial not working :(

Hi Folks,

I am completely unable to detect my Onion and have hit a total roadblock with getting started. Please help me diagnose!

No WiFi AP is detected by my PC and Android phone. The USB Serial is also not working, even after testing it out on two PCs. All the drivers are installed properly. I've tested the Onion both on the Mini Dock and the Arduino dock, neither offering to connect.
I have an Onion 1, dating back to the original Kickstarter campaign. It has not been used until today (I shipped it to the wrong address and had to wait a year to go back and get it). There does not appear to be any visual damage to the device.

Going through the GENERAL ISSUES checklist:

Have you followed our setup guide in https://wiki.onion.io/Get-Started?: YES. No dice
Are your boards firmly plugged in?: Yup. Not very visible from the image, but I've made sure its well plugged in.
Have you checked different USB cables/ports/power supplies?: 4 different cables (Data transfer with cable works. Tested with a phone)
Do you have the necessary drivers installed?: Yes.

The Onion appears to be booting correctly....

but no connection can be established.

Any help will be really appreciated!

Cloud compile broken again

I just got my Omega2+ yesterday. The Cloud Compile feature seems to still be broken? My job is stuck in the queued state. Can it be possible that this has been broken continuously for the last 5 months?

Also try to connect a USB connector direct on Mainboard if you use a Desktop computer with a front-controller. As longer and older the cables are, bigger is the possibility to get power loss.

Hi @Brett-Shipes, I'm very sorry about wasting your time. It is our fault for failing to ensure a quality in our manufacturing process. Would you please just try turning the switch with a pin one more time as shown below. If that does not work we will give you a full refund. The red arrow points to the location where the switch has broken off. What you should try to do is to use the tip of the needle to push it to the right to the ON position. Another thing that I have noticed is that your Omega isn't fully plugged into the dock. So it could be that you have already turned the switch to the ON position, but as a result of the improper connection between the Omega and the Dock, it wasn't able to turn on. So please push the Omega all the way into the Dock before trying to turn the switch with a pin. Thank you for your patience in dealing with us, and I apologize again for wasting your time.

Mini Dock switch breaking.

Hi @Yanir-Nulman, I'm really sorry about the poor quality of the switch. Is your mini dock broken in the ON position? If it is in the OFF position, would you be able to try to switch it to the ON position with a needle? As long as the Mini dock is on the ON position, it shouldn't affect the functioning of the Omega.

@Guest I have replied in your thread here that you can use the Reset switch to soft-start the Omega in the same way as the power switch if the power switch is stuck to ON. Gabe

mine got broken as well on my mini-dock. not much of a problem though. i'll have the switch on the power supply instead.
