I have been doing the Raspberry Pi for a while as well as Arduino and really like the GUI. It is great to program in python with the GUI and not VI. So here it goes: Is there a GUI that can sit on top of the Omega OS that is available? I am so used to GUI in all my development and it is really easier to do than all command line. If not, I can "revert" back to command line and VI

But I REALLY wish I could flash it with an OS one day, like, I don't know, debian server???

You quite certainly can. But what services are you REALLY interested in? You haven't mentioned it. Maybe those specific ones have already been compiled for an ARM processor. A system does NOT need to be labeled Debian to be a Linux Server system.
