<![CDATA[Omega 2+: serial won't show up?]]>Trying to connect to my Omega 2+ over serial and it's not showing up in my Terminal output:

Jacobs-MacBook-Pro:~ jacobbendicksen$ ls /dev/{tty,cu}.*
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port		/dev/tty.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port

MacOS 10.12 if that matters.

Ideas?

I believe if you are using the Power Dock, it does not have the USB-Serial circuit. Could be wrong.

Also make sure you power cycle the Omega2; I find that if I don't access the serial port soon after a cold boot, it 'goes away'.

ETA: I saw your other post; I'm on Sierra and I don't have any issues with it - try my suggestions above, also, you may find you need to be root in order to attach via screen.

being a member of dialout (or similar) group might be enough. Screen is a tool from modem times.

The CP2012 works fine in recent OSX releases, and does not require any special permissions. However the proper driver from SiLabs must be installed - it is not included with OSX in the way that an open source driver supporting that converter typically ships with most Linux distros today.

See if it is listed in the USB section under system report.

Try a different cable. Try it with a hub. Try it without a hub.
