I just wanted to start up with my new omega 2+, but unfortunately i cant get it running.<br />
I can connect to the Wifi of the Omega, but if i cant connect to it via console.</p>
<p dir="auto">User@NOTINTERSTING:~$ ssh root@omega-af2f.local<br />
ssh: Could not resolve hostname omega-af2f.local: Name or service not known</p>
<p dir="auto">I can use the Web overlay, but it is searching wifi-networks like... forever.<br />
If i type in my Wifi-Data manually, it cant connect.</p>
<p dir="auto">Any Help?</p>

<p dir="auto">Sounds like avahi on your system isn't working right. You'll have to consult your distro's instructions for that. You can, however, use the IP-address <code>192.168.3.1</code> instead of <code>omega-af2f.local</code>, ie. <code>ssh root@192.168.3.1</code></p>

<p dir="auto">I use LinuxMint LMDE (debian based)<br />
When i type <code>avahi-browse -a</code> i can see several devices ... sou you may be able to debug avahi in Linux this way.</p>

<p dir="auto">So my next Problem is, that it finds EVERY Wifi in my near but mine.<br />
Are there any restrictions to the name or something? my SSID is set visible and it works on WPA/WPA2.</p>

Oh, it seems that it only likes AES-encryption, not TKIP. I'm not 100% certain on these as I don't run official firmware, but check what WiFi-channel and encryption your WiFi uses.</p>

<p dir="auto">I can see my wifi, i can put in my password... ist says it connects and then: nothing happens.<br />
it isnt restarting, it isnt showing anything and i still cant use oupgrade, because it says it got no connection.</p>
<p dir="auto">I would do it via the Browser-Interface, but it always is searching for networks infinitly...</p>

<p dir="auto">You have to do a debbuging now ... please check out how to make a serial connetion and post your boot log.<br />
If you have serial connection you can try to configure in the serial terminal.</p>

<p dir="auto"><a class="plugin-mentions-user plugin-mentions-a" href="http://community.onion.io/uid/2563">@Matthias-Baumgarten</a> , if you can connect after, do a firmware upgrade in serial mode. This will solve a lot of problems. Or check out how to use LEDE image.</p>
