The steps to reproduce this (and a video) can be found on my blog:</p>

<p dir="auto">The example script has device name "device" but can be renamed to something like "lights" and Alexa can be told to "turn the lights on" or "turn the lights off". It will be trivial to plug a USB lamp in and have the python script control the usb hub power with the hub-ctrl package.</p>

The nice thing about this is locally connected and doest worry about cloud interfaces.</p>
