While the MT7688 and its DDR memory in an Omega2 might equal an engineering workstation of a few generations ago, they fall far short today.

What possible benefit could there be in using a tiny embedded system for this???

This module is intended for situations where you need WiFi in close proximity to hardware without a fullsize computer; in any others, it's really not worth the substantial trouble.
