It shows 4.12 V even though no battery is attached (both in the "GUI app" in the web interface and the power-dock2 CLI utility). In order to use the output of the CLI utility in scripts, it is important to get a valid output. If the battery is not attached, there is no reason or logic to get any other output than 0 (zero) volts.</p>
