Is Omega2 webcam streaming safe for flash memory?
I want to configure Omega2 for usb webcam streaming, using recipe for MT7688 chip (for example link )
Is this method using flash memory for writing during the streaming? Because I am afraid about Omega2 flash memory which has only a finite number of read/write cycles :-(
"mjpeg_streamer" program as in the link has several derivatives.
A key design tweak is to optimize it for low end embedded controller (one example uses fairly powerful Raspberry Pi 2)
to accommodate lack of CPU and memory resources.
The essence of the design is only to take in webcam feed that is already processed (UVC webcam with MJPEG streaming capability) then use as little as possible RAM as buffer (not using flash memory SD card), immediate turn around and send over the Ethernet/WiFi to the web browser.
Thanks, that makes me happy :-)
