@Michelle-Esponda , i propose to install
nano and use this instead.
For now you can check out the manual of vi:
Do you suppose he doesn't know this?
I just mentioned above, that without further info's they/he should not do it this way. if the files would be a zip or tar it could include the info's of changes or updates. Normally if everything would be really open-source, and a correct versioning process would exist, we could cheek in the source-code witch one works just fine with the used repositories where are active. Normally a testing images is downloaded on a separate location.
And they are in the Onion repo. Why?
I hope he gives you soon his own statement.
And by the way, i was mentioning my problems i also had with the Omega1 setup and my mini-docks. I had to change hardware that i see the dock permanent when it is plugged in over USB.
Onion.io just ignores such facts, not responding on question ppl make here or just do so if everything would be ok.
A normal client without a lot of technical readings knowledge just assumes that there is one version of a mini-dock ... a working , free of bugs, on.
At least when he is paying 15.- Dollars and about 70% taxes on it (x2) !!
The schematic show clearly one version of mini-dock ... the working one ! and compatible with omega2/2p
It is really easy, the stupid client is always the one who is the idiot!
The answer from Onion:
There was problems with resistor in serial circuit of old mini dock. But it works with Omega1. Since we never promise compatibility between old mini dock and new Omega2, there is nothing we can do about this. If you want to use Omega 2 with mini dock, I suggest that you can buy a mini dock 2 to solve this problem.
I also proposed the alternative to connect over the IP 192.168.3.1
The http:// got added because of the www. Locally connecting normally is without http:// (at least on my linux). To resolve the Omega-ABCD.local/ name you need on Windows Bonjur and on Linux Avahi running.
Linux users can check with
avahi-resolve -a 192.168.3.1 192.168.3.1 Omega-ABCD.local
if the avahi-daemon is running.
Now you may could ask "Why 3 firmware images above the working one?"
Somehow they need to have some testing firmware, it is just missing a more detailed and clear communication about it.
@Donald-Wright , you are looking in a one year old request! If you use Omega2 this will not be for you.
