@Boken-Lin Do you ever have one of those days when systems seem to be conspiring against you? :-(
It seems that I was totally mistaken about daylight savings not being honoured for Auckland/Wellington time zone. I have just tried again setting it via Console under Chrome and the date and time appear to be correct now. My only excuse is probably trying to do too many things simultaneously and loosing track with where I was - I apologise for wasting any of your time.
However, timezone setting using console under Firefox is still doing nothing and I have no explanation yet for this. But don't spend too much time on it - it is low priority from my perspective
Thanks @Lazar-Demin I did play with these tools. Will need to put them together into a script of sorts to communicate with my sensor and get results that make sense. I may end up writing it in python from examples by @Pedro-Baco and in the LED script.
@Leonard-Stroman That makes it much easier. Code written in Python don't need to be compiled because it is an interpreted language. You simply need to install python on the Omega, copy the code over to the Omega, and it should be able to run. The only thing you will need to wait for is our python wrapper for the PWM expansion driver. We should be releasing that in the next couple of weeks.
