I went one easier and just installed the VSFTP package and just FTP to the devices from whatever machine I am on. I ended up going this way because the editor I use (UltraEdit, since ver 2) supports direct FTP editing, but not SCP. So there is that route as well. Anything but the web console.

It is hard to say - there is no much data on the Rocki thing.
That said USB sound card is a sure bet - you can get a really good quality one. Just check that it is supported by Linux.
Both use digital audio - no much difference there. The USB could be a bit higher latency. With the USB you can get more channels, the i2s is stereo only.

Even on a Linux box, you can usually see that the device exists without permission to use it.
The CP2012 works fine in recent OSX releases, and does not require any special permissions. However the proper driver from SiLabs must be installed - it is not included with OSX in the way that an open source driver supporting that converter typically ships with most Linux distros today.
Any ideas as to why I can't see the Omega when I scan /dev/tty? I've tried installing the driver many times and it hasn't given me any error messages.
See if it is listed in the USB section under system report.
Try a different cable. Try it with a hub. Try it without a hub.
@Brad-Buskey
Could fire up a 16 x 4 LCD laying around, but that's serial. Don't need the effort right now. Think I'll find a little magnifier and mount it right above the display, LOL. More later sir .....
@T-NT %This thread is now marked [Resolved]. You will have wider support if you start a new thread for your problem. About your questions - hardware support of 5.4Ghz band on Omegas would be news to me - haven't seen that yet. Why the 2.4Ghz wifi isn't appearing in the polling result - confirm that the wifi SSID isn't hidden or the protocol is TKIP-encrypted, as TKIP isn't currently "automatically supported" as posted by Onion here.
@Shashi-Alabur Since you can connect via SSH, if you are working in Windows then take a look at WinSCP, Onion has good instructions here. WinSCP enables you to use your familiar Windows editor with the Omega's files.
Re the Onion Console not connecting - try using another browser - Chrome or Firefox or try clearing the cache in your browser. If these fail, maybe time to factory-reset or update firmware.
Are you sure you have an internet connection?
What does your /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf show?
I have mine set up like the following, making it easy for me to swap between the Onion packages and the existing LEDE packages.
# LEDE Project Packages - has lots of extras.
# src/gz reboot_base http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mipsel_24kc/base
# src/gz reboot_luci http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mipsel_24kc/luci
# src/gz reboot_packages http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mipsel_24kc/packages
# src/gz reboot_routing http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mipsel_24kc/routing
## src/gz reboot_telephony http://downloads.lede-project.org/snapshots/packages/mipsel_24kc/telephony
# Official Onion Omega 2+ Packages.
src/gz omega2_core http://repo.onion.io/omega2/packages/core
src/gz omega2_base http://repo.onion.io/omega2/packages/base
src/gz omega2_packages http://repo.onion.io/omega2/packages/packages
src/gz omega2_onion http://repo.onion.io/omega2/packages/onion
Do the update with the only the Onion packages uncommented and then run the following and make sure you can see the result. It should come back with the following:
opkg list | grep e2fsprogs
e2fsprogs - 1.43.3-2 - This package contains essential ext2 filesystem utilities which consists of e2fsck, mke2fs and most of the other core ext2 filesystem utilities.

Include necessary info's. If you have the credit-card balance to show that it was charged from your account etc.
Maybe you could include the link to this request too and report to the community what else was needed to get your missing devices.
There is a set I installed on mine (every time I wiped them) that I use all the time. But it really depends on what you want to do with it. I have a 1GB swap file on the SD card, and I have the OS copied and booting from the SD card as well. I connect via samba and ftp and mess with php, python and the oled and gps extensions.

@Callum-Stewart You may need to install/reinstall the web console and/or refresh your browser or customize the html. There are a number of threads here on issues with that.
ssh is generally a far better tool than the web console, though as you discovered most ssh clients will throw warnings if you change devices or a device forgets and reinvents its credentials.
