  Hi, mosfet is connected source to external 3.3V and drain to the board: as to be able to cut the power using gate signal (pulling gate high). Based on your "hint" I powered up the board from laboratory power supply and set voltage 3.6V. Onion now works as expected. So definitely voltage drop across mosfet is more than 0.3V and that way, Onion Vdd get down to minimum allowed 2.97V causing an reset (and reboot: because voltage "recovers" to acceptable level). Thanks for your help.

  @Douglas-Kryder You don't have to do anything special. Connect to the Omega2’s Serial Console Switch the Power Off Press the RESET BUTTON and hold down (it's called "I. Programmable button" on Omega2 LTE, see Board Features - Front) Switch the Power On Release the RESET BUTTON This will get you to the bootloader (UBoot) menu and you have 40 seconds to choose one of the options. Please select option: [ Enter ]: [ 0 ]: Start Web recovery mode. -> Firmware Flashing With Web Recovery Mode [ 0 ]: [ 1 ]: [ 2 ]: or Please select option: [ Enter ]: [ 0 ]: [ 1 ]: [ 2 ]: Flash firmware from USB storage -> Firmware Flashing from USB Storage

  @Joshua-O'Leary Since it is a flash chip we have added ourselves we will need to flash the OS onto it. No. You must flash one of Omega2 Pro firmware onto the Omega2S+ onboard flash. For example if you want to use the latest Omega2 Pro FW (2019-10-28) then flash it onto an Omega2S+: cd /tmp wget http://repo.onioniot.com.s3.amazonaws.com/omega2/images/omega2pro-v0.3.2-b232.bin sysupgrade -n --force omega2pro-v0.3.2-b232.bin Be patient! @Lazar-Demin wrote here: The full firmware upgrade process may take up to 5 minutes and your Omega2 Pro will reboot twice! The first reboot will happen after the firmware has been updated, then once the device initializes, it will configure everything to run from the eMMC storage, after which it will reboot again. This will only happen on the first boot after an upgrade. It'll take about 7 (seven!) minutes. You should not press any key during this time - it is fully automatic. You could watch the whole process on the Serial Console. BTW The title of this article Booting from External Storage is a marketing bullshit. An Omega2(+), Omega2S(+) or Omega2 Pro - with any present official Onion firmware - is not able to boot from any external storage (MicroSD card, USB memory storage or eMMC). Please take a look at my project: DIY Omega2 Pro - Try it before buy Unfortuntely I don't have any Omega2S+ and I can't solder any BGA chip - so I've made some experimental (or "fake" Omega2 Pro for myself.

  @Chandan-Rajashekhar First of all you must use an appropriate 3.3V, minimum 500mA (0.5A) power supply. Some power supply with 800..1000mA (0.8..1A) output current capability would be better. Your YP-01 PL2303 (???) USB to TTL converter module is only a USB-to-Serial converter and can't provide enough current for an Omega2. You will find the WiFi AP of your Omega2S+ if it can fully boot. Presently your Omega2 is not working at all.

Bus just in case - my implementation is this one, which is part of a larger set of utilities handling other peripherals such as i2c, spi, pwm and a lot of other stuff, based on a common mainloop for timers and I/O polling.

  @nix666 it uses mariadb and odbc, I don't consider those to be particulalrly SoC friendly. About half of the space used is dedicated to this two components. If you really need gammu you can install the firmware build system and look at the gammu code to see if you can slim it down. An easier option might be to upgrade to a 2+, Pro or a Dock with a USB key. Sorry I cannot be of more help.

  @sabhay-sardana have you looked at SAMBA? I haven't tried it on Onion but it is available for OpenWrt. Take a look at this link: https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/services/nas/usb-storage-samba-webinterface Luci is just a web interface but you can configure SAMBA manually. You could also use NFS.

  @Mark-Nagaev my bandwidth limitation is mostly because my cellular provider has a max download of 25 - 30mbps. that's the best i get. so any devices connected to the omega2+ share that. if one device is doing youtube video then any others really struggle to do anything useful. however if 2-3 devices are doing casual browsing then it varies from sorta acceptable to memories of 1996 and 56K modem. at least the hotspot keeps the line open. to answer your query i think your issue is more a function of shairpoint software than omega2 hardware.

  @Robert-Spilleboudt great to hear you got it working. Yes the Onion team have done a great of the docs. I use svox on an Omega2Pro so there was no need to use external storage.
