As a Beta tester, memory was not my issue, LittleVGL is not perfect but I looked at so many other potential GUI candidates for my specific requirements and in the end I came to the same conclusion as Lazar and Zheng. ok, well it seems that to make the omega2 useful for most applications the /overlay is necessary. so in the dash case sdcard or a usb flash sticking off the side of the board are required. the dash is 20 bucks more than the pro. so the screen probably costs a lot. buying the pro and then a similar sized screen no more than 10 bucks over the dash , probably less than dash also. unless there is something proprietary about the way that screen functions with the board. i'm just trying to understand the thinking here that's all. thanks for your views.

@mawg the adc expansion has 3 grove connectors and supposedly supports any grove sensor although i have never tried it and not read too much about if it works or not.

@Lazar-Demin just noticed that there is no expansion header pin reference at all printed on the board. bad choice, imo. very unfriendly. is onion planning on printing up a small cheat sheet reference card that slips over the header to provide info? if not, another bad choice.

the arduino dock works for first time setup. it is basically a software routine that happens when power is applied to the module the first time. but, br sure to read the documentation carefully when it ccmes time to set up the arduino dock. that will require a specific set of software and i think it was even updated once after the original so read up on the arduino dock before you set it up.

i got an email about the product and was wondering why the decision was made to not have the 8GB storage chip?
probably cost i imagine. i suppose using the sdcard might slow down the screen page refresh if changing screen data? thanks.

thanks. so i read the guide and there is no mention of firmware recovery for this LTE model. is that the case or is there some undocumented path like maybe just creating a serial connection from the interrupted boot sequence menu to a computer. or, maybe store a copy of the firmware in a special folder on the emmc . or did they give this LTE no recovery path? i've been thinking about getting this LTE to replace a particle electron but having had to do the recovery sequence on a few original omega2+ because of bad firmware, i'd won't buy one if recovery isn't possible.

@Viktor-Dück i'm wondering if you have a usb hub that has usb-c input to the omega2 LTE and both usb-c and usb-a output if you can run power to the LTE as well as use a standard usb flash drive to run recovery. or a usb splitter cable.

lag is an issue that seems to affect most small sbc type platforms. forums on robotics usually have lots of threads on latency issues. i used a nvidia tx1 2 years ago and i was surprised at the jitter and stalls then. the omega2+ i used had the overlay setup and a swap drive.

@Max-Mayer onion does sell a mini dock but it lacks a battery port. it might be possible to feed 5v or 3.3v thru the usb micro b port though.

@cas i assumed at the time it was discussed earlier that the usb-c would have host and it was gonna be just adapting a usb drive to fit usb-c. it was a surprise to me that it does not have host. oh well.

@Mark-Nagaev my bandwidth limitation is mostly because my cellular provider has a max download of 25 - 30mbps. that's the best i get. so any devices connected to the omega2+ share that. if one device is doing youtube video then any others really struggle to do anything useful. however if 2-3 devices are doing casual browsing then it varies from sorta acceptable to memories of 1996 and 56K modem. at least the hotspot keeps the line open. to answer your query i think your issue is more a function of shairpoint software than omega2 hardware.
