Web-socket On the Onion Omega2+ ?

I am working on a project but I'm mainly a hardware side of things.
The web side of things guy needs to know if the onion omega2 can run websockets on it.
What we are working on is displaying info from the omega2 to OBS software and he thinks the best way of doing this for him is to use websockets. So back to my question, is the onion capable of running websockets on it?
I am sorry if this is mixed up but I a more of the circuit side of the project.
