New Omega 2 No Wifi Nothing happening...
-
Hey all, Received my omega 2 in the post yesterday. Just plugged it in today (Micro USB) I'm using windows 10. I can't see the wifi for the Omega 2. Amber light is solid. Blue light is solid. Installed apples services etc and drivers but no luck. Any idea what's going on?
According to the Omega 2 Doc It's meant to have wifi?
"The Omega hosts itβs own WiFi network access point. Lets connect your computer to it. The WiFi network is named the same as your Omega and the default password is 12345678" https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/first-time-setup.html
Mine isn't giving one off. Tried on android phone and laptop.

Here's a video of the Omega 2 https://vid.me/JuYN

I noticed that my Amber light never blinked. It turned solid straight away.
-
Help, please?
-
I am going to see if it works With linux.

It doesn't matter if you plug it in your computer with Windows 10 or Linux. But it's indeed unusual when there is no visible wireless AP when you turn on your Omega. You can try resetting the Omega or setting up a serial connection and troubleshoot directly. https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/connecting-to-the-omega-terminal.html#connecting-via-serial-windows

You mean right from switching it on?

It takes sometimes a few good minutes for the wifi name to appear on the list.

@Marcin-Debowski
Yes, when I first turned it on it went straight to solid Amber light.@Jackdaw
Do you mean reseting as in power off/ unplug? Or is there a way of doing a full reset? (Hold button down for a while etc)@Jackdaw said in New Omega 2 No Wifi Nothing happening...:

I have a bad feeling it's a hardware error. Which is strange as I only got it yesterday! Very annoying.
I have left it on for 20 minuets, still no wifi showing up.

Is there meant to be a sound or 'Looking for Drivers' Notification when I plug the Omega in via mini usb? Also, is the Amber light meant to stay Amber? Isn't it meant to blink first?
-
I have the mini dock. Don't know how to reset it on the expansion dock. But have you tried to connect via serial connection?

Yeah, no luck. Says the host isn't valid. I tried connecting to my Omega-xxxx.local and 192.168.1.3 with it. But it's never found. I think there's something going on with the hardware. The Amber light has never blinked. I have the 'Power Dock' No expansions.

Could you paste the output of
iwconfig
command on the Omega?
-
@Jackdaw Wouldn't I need to be able to connect to it first to run that command?

@Jackdaw Oh Sorry. I ran Iwconfig.
I tried Iwconfig -e
Iwconfig -a
Iwconfig all
Iwconfig omega
Iwconfig omega-xxxxWhat is the correct command?

Do you think it's software related then?
