Hitting ds.onion.io every 5-6 seconds

This isn't a huge complaint or anything, but why on earth does my single onion omega2 hit that dns address roughly 14,400 times a day? Is there a way to say, have it hit once or twice a day, or even an hour? It isn't being blocked on my network, just recorded that it occurred.
