Power Consumption
-
Really necessary feature!
Probably it would be great to have scenario of lowering the speed (if possible) for reducing power consumption.
Or/and, at least, any hints, how to make it lower as possible in current state.
-
I'm interested in this also !
-
Any news on this topic?
-
I'm interested in a sleep mode as well.
Any progress?
-
Lining up... Sleep/hibernate with a schedule would be great.
-
looks like technically it is possible. https://labs.mediatek.com/en/chipset/MT7688 (datasheet, page 102)
Need to be implemented on kernel level.

We need the function

Hello,
Any news on this feature ?
Me and my team are really interested by this.
-
Any news? Another path for today it to use watchdog controller with hibernation support that turns main onion on and off on demand.
-
@Bjorn-Pehrson Hi, I wanted to know if you could find the way to make an hibernation mode with the omega, I'm trying but it's been difficult.
-
@daniela-perdomo Please let us know what did you try? Did you try to hibernate an Omega or an Omega2?
Probably you know that the first 23 posts of this thread - up to @Kris-Kelvin's second post on 2018-01-23 - are related to the first (the "original") Omega version - including also @Bjorn-Pehrson's post.
-
@György-Farkas does the Omega2S(+) implement any sleep/low power ability yet? I thought this was still not available yet?
-
@Christopher-Longbottom No, it doesn't. Neither the Omega2(+) nor the Omega2S(+) has got any official power saving (low power/sleep/deep sleep) modes... yet ;).
-
@György-Farkas do you know if this is being actively worked on by anybody on the team?

Any update on a low power mode for the omega2 series?
I have been working with SAMA5 giantboard (atmel/debian/WIN1500 wifi) which is suppose to have a low power mode, but I cant get the wifi to power down so i cant get below 55mA in sleep mode. I have a Toradex iMX6UUL Wifi module which works fine (< 1ma in sleep) but this is a very large board and requires an SSID 200 pin connector.
Anyone had any luck with any other Linux/wifi boards that can go into sleep mode. I bought a lot of Omegas and simply power them down and power them up but that takes over 2 minutes
I am looking for a Linux board that can go into sleep at < 1mA (like the giantboard) but with the ability to turn wifi on and off (or low power mode) a well(the wifi is used as an AP).
I have successfully used SAML21 processor with WIN1500 wifi but unfortunately this does not support Linux and i need to provide w Web Server and USB camera interface.
Any ideas ? Maybe the ESP based boards which are really cheap? any ideas?
