Pictureframe of Things

I've attached an e-Paper display to an Onion Omega via USB-to-TTL serial adapter, mounted it in a picture frame, and exposed it to the internet. The Omega's lighttpd is serving the website and running the CGI, proxied by my dedicated server via ssh tunnel.
See http://www.pictureframeofthings.com/ to play with it live. Yes, it's sitting on my desk, updateable by anyone. The photo below is the background image for the website, which overlays a preformatted text block to present what's actually on the screen right now.

I should point out that, since the display content is user-submittable, it does get randomly vandalized with NSFW ascii art

There's no ethernet here; the blue cable is just a power-only micro-USB cable, plugged into a mini dock. The USB-to-Serial adapter is plugged into the mini dock's USB-host port.
The dock is connected to the picture frame with a piece of thick plastic foam, double-stick-taped on each side.

I've updated the hardware for this project slightly, and have mounted the onion omega on the back of the frame, as well as a flash drive used to increase storage space enough that I can compile directly on the picture frame.

It looked nerdy cute with the pending devices... But now, it's a clean-cut project. Lol!!! Very nice work, Robin!
