Make USB Host Port (connector) without dock

I want to make USB port without using the dock. I want to connect USB Audio card
Can I connect the GND, D+ and D- to USB Connector directly and 5V from external power supply?
There is any component in between the header pins and the USB connector?

@Gian-Carlo-Salvati Aye, but you also need to connect the 5V power-supply's GND to the Omega2 GND -- everything must have a common ground. There is no need for any other extra components, if it's just a temporary thing, but for a more permanent solution it would be a good idea to add ESD-protection on the data-pins.

Forgetting the common ground is a common mistake, maybe that's where the name comes from
