procps missing?

  • I'm almost certain I've used opkg to install procps (most importantly the watch command) on my Omega Onion.. I've gone to setup a similar system on my Omega2 but can't find anything matching procps:

    root@Omega-B79F:~# opkg update
    root@Omega-B79F:~# opkg search procps
    root@Omega-B79F:~# watch
    -ash: watch: not found

    Any ideas?

  • opkg list | grep procps
it will look for any instance of procps. it returns:
    procps-ng - 3.3.11-3
so you will want to actually run:
    opkg install procps-ng

  • @Brad-Buskey said in procps missing?:

I feel like I'm missing something.

  • What is listed in your /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf file?

It is like you are missing a repository.

  • I see the same..

    src/gz omega2_packages http://repo.onion.io/omega2/packages/packages

Very confused. I've got a second Onion2 here which I will try as soon as I get a chance.

  • @None-None Dont know what to tell you. I ran that this morning and it found the package. did you try doing the install with the procps-ng?

    opkg update
    opkg install procps-ng

Mine already had it installed. I am also on firmware 0.1.9 b156 (with all the latest issues, I am not upgrading any time soon.)

You could also browse out to the http://repo.onion.io/omega2 and get the path to the package there and then use wget to download the package and then opkg to install it (when run from the same dir as the downloaded package)

  • Brand new Omega2, never used until today.. setup today and firmware updated:

What am I doing wrong :s

I've also downloaded all the package list files from "opkg update" and manually searched them.. procps doesn't exist.

I did source it from another place though but I'm unsure if this is a bad idea:

    wget https://downloads.lede-project.org/releases/packages-17.01/mipsel_24kc/packages/procps-ng_3.3.11-3_mipsel_24kc.ipk
    wget https://downloads.lede-project.org/releases/packages-17.01/mipsel_24kc/packages/procps-ng-watch_3.3.11-3_mipsel_24kc.ipk
    opkg install procps-ng_3.3.11-3_mipsel_24kc.ipk
    opkg install procps-ng-watch_3.3.11-3_mipsel_24kc.ipk

Why does it seem my Omega2s can't find the package yet you can? Are you on an Omega2 or an original?
