Title sorta says it all. I have a project in the works using a pair of Arduinos. They communicate back and forth via RFM69 radios. I want to convert the base station to UNIX/Linux, but retain the Arduino remote sensor system as it's battery operated, and very battery friendly.

Anybody have any ideas on how to convert Arduino code to something that'll run on the Omega2+? I'm sorta programming language neutral, as I have already install GCC, and Python, and am fluent in other (probably archaic) languages.

I'm not interested in solutions that utilize the Arduino dock, even though I do have one of those, as well.

I'm trying to set up my first Omega, and have a few questions.

1. I'm trying to make some standard tweaks, and getting frustrated. I edit /etc/TZ and change the GMT0 to PST8 and date properly reports the correct local time. It does not respond then I set TZ to PST8PDT to indicate that daylight slaving time is used in the area. After a reboot, /etc/TZ contains GMT0, not the value I've set. I suspect I'll have the same issurs with /etc/hosts or /etc/*.

2. Where are the man pages? I realize they are not on the chip, but are they available online somewhere?

I'm not exactly a newbie... I've been using *NIX since 1985+/-, but these items, and others, yet to be tripped over, are hardware related. I'm familiar with other microcomputers (RPi, CI20, etc.) and I want to understand th Omega, but the documentation is woefully lacking.
