Ok
if they don't want the broken one back, i'll try to hit it with a heat gun to see if i can reflow the solder, maybe that will do something
Thanks for the help!

Yes, i am certain. I got the same message multiple times when trying to boot it
I can't see anything obviously wrong on the outside, but i guess the DRAM is under the shield. The firmware installation page you linked won't work, as it requires you to be able to boot the omega Is there any way to upload it via Serial?
I just got my omega, and don't have a USB dock for it, so i plugged it into my bench power supply set to 3.3v. Nothing happened except for it getting a bit warm (but not so hot i couldn't touch it). It draws around 160mA. After a few minutes it went down to 60mA, but still no blinking on the LED's and no hotspot. Anything i can do?
I get this from the Serial port when i power it up:
/ __ ___ ()__ ___ / __ _ _ ___ ___ ____ _
/ // / _ / / _ / _ \ / // / ' / -) _ / _

_/////___//// _////_/_, /_,/
W H A T W I L L Y O U I N V E N T ? /__/"

PS.
And yes, i checked that i didn't plug it in backwards
