This followed opkg update. Could there still be crucial files missing, or commented packages that should be activated?
@crispyoz Proceeding from there, I was seeing if it could work with pulseaudio yet, though it fails to load or detect the module. Not sure if that was the correct process of events.
@crispyoz Okay. It needed to refresh the updates once before, but after that, it replaced the existing files without any trouble this time.
@crispyoz Currently at the daemon installation. There seems to be several data file clashes with what's already on the device.
Files it wants to install: libavahi-common.so.3, libavahi-common.so.3.5.3, libavahi-core.so.7, libavahi-core.so.7.0.2. These are all under /usr/lib/.
It says these files are already provided in the package labelled 'libavahi-nodbus-support'. Is this one perhaps under one of the uncommented packages? I don't know whether one should go in and just delete them, or if the files necessary are already installed for progression.
Well, while I know I've already mentioned this on the other chat, it's the section on setting up the background 'pulseaudio', since commands are outdated on the device. I know that it may be excessive to think of downgrading to a "compatible" version, but I've been having little success finding alternatives or replacements for commands originally used like said 'udevd'.
The wireless connection is set up at this point. I was more referring to the bluetooth project from the 2017 project book (Vol. 1).
Connectivity seems to be fine now. I remedied that one by the manual cmd approach. The current obstacle is figuring out how some of the commands from the original project have changed with the firmware updates, if at all.
@crispyoz I can try that, I suppose. And no, this is just just trying to get the old Bluetooth Speaker project from Vol 1 working. I have just been having zero luck with the Omega2+ computers, and I'm starting to run out of ideas on progression, since I don't want to keep posting each tedious question I have on the forums. It took me almost a week just to properly update the device, and it ended up not working to the point I tried just buying a new one, to no avail.
This is on top of working with RasPi, now SHARC DSP technology in CCES, and possibly Arduino. Out of them all, Omega is the one that just doesn't feel...consistent. It's the only one where one solved obstacle is replaced by one or two others without fail. Not even C/C++, the bane of my existence for coursework, has given me this much trouble.
I was interested in downgrading the Omega2+ to about the version in mid-2017, so I could replicate a project done at the time. There's too much changed with the Omega that it doesn't seem possible on the up-to-date version.
I took a look at the directory for versions, but couldn't find anything before late 2018. Are there any other locations with previous firmware images stored?

The project I'm trying to accomplish is the old Bluetooth Speaker from the first project book, so I can pair that with a Sharc DSP board, so I can practice sending an audio signal, while modifying it at the same time. At the moment, the next step, where the 'udevd' was coming from, is creating a pulseaudio daemon that will run in the background until called upon.
I'd have to imagine that the command line would have other commands/ways of doing this without the need for creating custom scripts for reference. I'll take a look back at the library, just in case.
How I'm interpreting this is that, I can try putting in a script to create 'udevd' as a command to use.
My mistake. Hotplug is present (you can view the directories 'File Explorer' style with Code Editor), but it doesn't come up when I search for it.
Also forgot to use opkg update after uncommenting some of the distfeeds.conf lines. It still doesn't seem to have made a difference for either udevd or hotplug, which are the ones enabled.
I am sorry for the pestering on this. I'm trying to do it to fill out a small portfolio for graduate application, and nobody in my department seems to use Onion technology, so I can't just get into a call with them to troubleshoot.
Would creating a script such as this be done through the Code Editor, or still in the Terminal? I'm suspecting the former, but I want to be careful with proceeding.
I took a look. It seems hotplug would be under /etc/ if it were here (correct me if I'm wrong). How would I install that? Would opkg install be sufficient?
One other question about distfeeds.conf. Does one of the commented lines include the udevd command? It says it's not found on my end.

I'm trying to uncomment a couple of the lines in this file, specifically the packages, so I can make use of the bluez features. However, and I apologize for my shortsightedness, I cannot figure out what I'm supposed to do once I've accessed the file with cat /etc/opkg/distfeeds.conf. I can't click and edit, and if we need to retype the lines without the pound sign, my keyboard doesn't let me write underscores.

@crispyoz For the meantime, I've ended up purchasing a new Omega chip. This one was just throwing too many problems at me, I likely because of complications when manually updating, I fear.
Thanks to help from a user, I was able to successfully update my Omega2+ to the most recent version, and it launches when plugged into the computer. However, I am having trouble with almost anything that requires a connection to work.
Firstly, when I open network options to connect (Windows 10, btw), it doesn't show up after letting it boot for a minute or two. It works when I launch the command line via PuTTY, but when I opted to 'opkg update', it wasn't able to connect to download packages. I assumed I just needed to have a proper connection to Wifi, but when I went through to have it search for access points (which my own computer was in range of, like home router), it did not pick up on anything, including the mobile hotspot I set up. I couldn't even make it work after manually typing in the Wifi information.
Any and all help is appreciated.
