Yes, I thought so as well. So I sent pictures to the helpdesk with explanation what I have tried. I got a response that looked like a macro answer and then nothing for over a week. I sent them couple more messages with additional pictures but nothing. I then found a thread in this forum of someone with a similar problem and a solution. In the picture below you can see two solder points on the underside of the SD-card slot that are bridged. After I scraped the solder away between the points, the board started to work.

The build quality is horrible on the Omega2. Hopefully Onion will fix it with the next batch.

Thank you to everyone on this thread. This was the same problem I had on mine. I scratched off some solder between the blobs and now I have the amber light. Two weeks of nothing from helpdesk. It seems this was not a product that you wanted the first batch of.

I was not. I have been trying for over a week. I can't get any support from the helpdesk and the tips from the forum have not helped me either. I might have a short circuit on the underside of the board, but hard to know. I have a multimeter but the two points that are soldered together are both ground but there still might be damaged because someone has scratched away the solder at the factory leaving horrible markings.

Do you think the scratches in the corner has caused some kind of short circuit? Both point should be earth but I do not know what is in between. This is how the board was delivered to me. The amber light won't light up and the AP doesn't show up either. I think my board is busted. I have not gotten any help from the helpdesk yet. Been trying for over a week.

You can't really know if it is similar until you investigate. You don't want to hijack someone else's thread because you have an almost similar problem with your board.

I do not have the equipment to check the power consumption. I have a multimeter but have to mess up a usb-cable to be able to check the amperage goinging through to the O2+.

I received my Omega yesterday and I have not yet been able to power it up. I bought the Omega with the Arduino dock 2. The dock has a blue LED that lights up when I connect it to a power supply. However, the amber light on the Omega2+ never lights up. The board becomes lukewarm but no AP shows up. I have tried different power supplies but nothing helps. I can see that the dock supplies the Omega2+ with 3.34V but there doesn't seem to be any power at the VOUT pin. Is this a broken board or can I still get it to work somehow?
