How do you port up to ssh, if you want a different port
with best regards Lars
-
@lars-jensen You will need to edit
/etc/config/dropbear
. You will see a line similar to:option Port '22'
And you simply need to change the port to whichever you want, save the file, and restart the SSH server with:
/etc/init.d/dropbear restart

thank you very much

Back to the future 2017 !!!
How come I didn't found this info via google ? I had to find the same answer via LEDE support IRC channel.
Why was not this inserted into official documentation ??? so simple thing ./ . .
-
@the-mask Because LEDE has it documented. Because the Omega uses LEDE:
https://lede-project.org/docs/user-guide/ssh_configuration

@Jackdaw - apologize for the really really late reply; I'm reviewing my own posts as found myself in the same situation again - that of changing the default ssh port.
And I'm sure you're correct; however, for an ordinary user, just reading the official documentation about hot to connect via ssh, dropping 2 more lines to cover that . . . I'm just saying . . . could save a lot of precious time; I'll try asking chatGPT also to see if it can figure it out . . .
