Flashing Image via Serial Port?
-
My onion is well and truly bricked
How can I upload an image to it via the serial port?
You can do this for micro-controllers like Arduino using the open-source Arduino Software (IDE) on your PC and a serial cable (or USB cable and USB to serial converter if your PC does not have a serial port).

Hi @Ian-Swart, unfortunately the Omega isn't the same as Arduino. Omega's firmware is much larger, and would take a very long time to flash if done over serial. The best way to do it is through ethernet expansion. Do you have an ethernet expansion? If not, we can either teach you how to make one from resisters and capacitors, or you can also order an ethernet expansion from our store.

Good Day Boken
Alas, I don't have an Ethernet expansion and I won't be ordering one, since I'm much too impatient to be honest. Consequently, I guess I'm left with your latter offer. I shall greatly appreciate it if you'd provide me with the instructions (including helpful schematic diagram if necessary etc) how to create one using those components (please include the components' specifications). Thank you so much for the trouble!

@Ian-Swart As already posted by @Johannes-Zellner. Only specification is that the capacitance for the capacitors shouldn't be too big. 0.1uF will do the job.
