Using USB or microSD storage for installing packages
-
Hi, I am trying to install python3 and some basic packages but immediately ran into an of space error. It's difficult for me to determine which (already) installed packages are needed or not or which applications (ie PWM control) from the Omega can be removed, or how to remove them for that matter. Anyway, I would like to use a USB drive or microSD to expand storage. There is plenty of information on the wiki for this but it all seems geared towards supplementary storage (ie storing music or images) and not as a default location for the operating system. How can I mount a USB or microSD drive and have the Omega know to use it for package/OS file installs? Thank you.

@David-Vo you could read this for help
https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/boot-from-external-storage.html
and this

Thanks for the response. I feel like solving each problem with the Omega2 brings you down another rabbit hole. Even basic functions are impossible because of the kernel / repo issue. I can't even format usb to ext4 because of errors.

@David-Vo Look at this and this if you have errors regarding a kernel version mismatch for the
kmod-fs-ext4
package.
