Wifi Connection problems

  • Re: New OS Release!

Hi I had not used my Omega2+ for few months. I noticed I was a few firmware versions behind so I updated to the latest firmware, omega2p-v0.2.1-b199. After the update I lost connectivity to my network and the internet. I used wifisetup and tried to connect to my network it looked like it worked. I found that it did not work and I noticed that I cannot always connect to the Onion 'ap' or I would connect and it would drop shortly after. Anyway I have restored my previous firmware 'omega2p-v0.1.10-b160' went through and setup the AP and network again and it worked. I have followed several suggestions from the forums all to no avail. Anyway it looks like the radio keeps turning off when I use any of the newer firmware versions. Does anyone have an answer to this problem yet?

  • Hi, the same thing is here. The version v0.1.10-b160 worked well with my AP (LANCOM OAP-822), but the new one (0.2.1) gets no IP address from the router and messes up the command line with messages about the WIFI (see below). Reason: the new WIFI stack has a bug using comples passwords. My omega only gets an IP address with VERY simple passwords, no special characters...

  • I did some further research on passwords. Finally I got it working with my AP using a 8 character password with upper and lower case letters and decimals. Length of 16 (same password type) didn't work.

The same issue here, as soon as the setup scans for wifi sids my home sid didnt appear. We use FRITZ!Box wifi next to onion.
Any ideas to resume the setup?
