i broke my omega with factory reset
-
i had my omega IP show as omega-0000 after modding the etc/config/wirless file.
i only changed the channel to 1 instead of auto but it broke.
so i run factory reset command using USB to serial converter .
when i power it , the omega led will blink for a minut then i again get the omega-0000 after that it will stop working .i copied the msg i get from the serial interface using putty and i included it below . please have a look at it and tell me if this is fixable and if you can guide me throw it .
note: i dont have a doc .
my power supply is . 3.3v 1.2 A
i did a voltage divider to divide the 5 v on the USB to 3v so i dont burn the omega.

@haythem You're having some fun aren't you
The logging looks normal, so I would expect you should be able to hit ENTER key and you would get a prompt. If this doesn't work then I expect you have a hardware handshaking issue, can you post here your putty connect page so we can see your putty setup.
If you use your computer to search for available wifi, you should be able to find a wifi SSID named Omega-XXXX, you can follow the procure from the documentation https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/first-time-setup.html
this will help determine if the device is hung or if it is an issue with your serial connection.Powering the Omega2 without a dock is documented here: https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/hardware-prep-no-dock.html#hardware-prep-no-dock
-
@crispyoz so much fun....................
the omega used to work fine.
now the led will blink and shut down .
putty will stop too
my putty setting are just the com port and the datta speed set to 115200
i have no eithernet doc so i cant run the web recovery mode.
i am lost here ........ its not even my board. i am borrowing it .
-
@haythem yes these things can be frustrating, we have all been there. Take a look at everything I said in my last post and provide the details so we can work through the issues.
-
@crispyoz it did work , and no idea why . it even show the access point ............
"before the factory reset the access point was broken "
damn my mind is toasted ......... been debugging for hours ,...
yeeey
-
@haythem The problem when you are trying to debug for hours is that you end up not seeing what you need to, and only seeing what you don't need to. So I am trying to help you work logically through the issues so they can be resolved. I've worked on hundreds of Omega2 so please follow what I ask you to do, provide the information I ask for and then I expect everything will be resolved.
Let's start from scratch. Take a breath, forget what you think you know and just step through things as I asked.
How did you perform a factory reset without a dock?
I suspect your console issue is the handshaking, so please post the putty connect screen (as I asked) so I can take a look at it.
