Motion configuration for Omega
-
Hi all,
Is there someone that managed to run
motion
on the Omega?I downloaded motion from https://downloads.openwrt.org/latest/ar71xx/generic/packages/packages/ and used a config file from the SVN trunk of the project http://www.lavrsen.dk/svn/motion/trunk/motion-dist.conf.in. After modifying the configuration to my needs and commenting out the not supposed ffmpeg setting and friends options motion is starting. The green LED on the webcam lights up. I managed to connect to the 8080 port for seconds, but neither pictures are captured nor the stream on port 8081 is available. The log states:
[0] [ERR] [ALL] [May 15 18:18:49] main: Thread 1 - Watchdog timeout, trying to do a graceful restart
[0] [NTC] [STR] [May 15 18:18:50] httpd_run: motion-httpd - Read from client
[0] [NTC] [STR] [May 15 18:18:51] httpd_run: motion-httpd - Finishing
[0] [NTC] [STR] [May 15 18:18:51] httpd_run: motion-httpd Closing
[0] [NTC] [STR] [May 15 18:18:51] motion_web_control: motion-httpd thread exitAfter disabling the stream and web control just:
[0] [ERR] [ALL] [May 15 18:23:49] main: Thread 1 - Watchdog timeout, trying to do a graceful restart
An example configuration file would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Christoph

@Christoph-Zembrowski This is a bit off topic as I don't know anything about the motion you speak of but would like to use it in the future. Problem is no camera as of now, which camera did you end up using?

Just some old Logitech Webcams (a C250 and Pro 5000). Both work seamlessly with the preinstalled webcam App in the console (I guess through the preinstalled mjpg-streamer).

@Christoph-Zembrowski Thank you. Guess I just got unlucky using the Logitech livestream which doesn't work. There have been some mentioned herein that it may be due to the power it draws. And some promises to add more drivers. Without knowing for sure will now see about picking up one of the two you mention. Again Thank you.
