OMEGA2+ No WIFI AP and LED on SOILD
-
I have not played with my Omega 2 since I got it because of work. I plugged it in today and the LED comes on solid. NO blinking nothing. The wifi ap does not show up at all. I have let it set for about and hour and nothing. I am using a mini dock that is about it.
-
The mini dock has a USB-to-serial chip, so follow the documentation on how to connect through serial with the omega. The boot messages should tell you what is wrong.
-
And if you have trouble with the serial connection have a look here.
If you had an older mini-dock ore got "blessed" with such a one, don't waste to much time.
-
Connected to via Serial and just get a empty screen. Nothing pops up not logo nothing.

Quick Video of what I am getting when trying to connect to via USB-to-serial. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loVItWXH6xg

I assume the flashing in the end is you hittig the Intro/Return key.
Sometimes the serial and the omega desynchronize (no clk pin) and powering off the omega, connecting to serial and then boot it up works for me. I have a USB to serial adapter connected directly to omega2's pins.
It also may be that like @Luciano-S ' the dock's serial is broken.

I don't think so ... i not got it if he did hit enter? ... if not try this > hit enter after connecting.
-
@Luciano-S. maybe I was too subtle with my first line, like saying "the silliest thing is to hit enter, let's assume you did it, if not, try now".
-
now we got all versions , enter return and intro key
I just meant, he will see something when the serial over usb not is working ... at least strange characters or just stopping on a certain point.
For this he should restart the omega as soon as he has a connection (switch off/on) to get the full log.
-
@Luciano-S. in my case, when the serial was desynchronised nothing showed up, and couldn't write anything.
The other case is everything works and he needs to press enter to activate the terminal. Also, I'm not english and was not sure how you call the enter key, enter, return, intro...
-
I am sorry for not saying that I hit enter once the screen session seemed "logged in" . I can see the Omega via "ls /dev/ttyUSB0" no matter what position the switch is in. get the same empty screen when I try to connect. Nothing happens when I hit enter/return/intro .

@Anthony-Kelly You might try unplugging the omega from the dock and putting a small piece of jumper wire between the receive and transmit connectors of the connector the omega sits in (just be careful to get those and not power lines - a 1k resistor would work too, and be more tolerant of mistakes).
With the wire in place whatever you type in a serial terminal should echo back, without it the echo should stop. That would test the USB-serial distinctly from the Omega 2.
