Omega2 Overheating
-
Hey guys,
Has anyone else had an issue where their omega2 is overheating and then stops functioning. I have only just finished "getting started" and already had it over heat/need to stop (in the expansion board) 4 times.
Really just wondering if I got a defective one, am using it wrong, or really am just incredibly hot myself that it's freaking out.
Either way, I'm keen to use it, so any advice, ideas or suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Sean

Yes, I have exactly same problem, when I
top
on my Onion thewifi-manager
seems to be a culprit.

Hey Jakub,
Thanks for your response. the wi-fi manager could be the issue, is there any way to turn it off, while loading apps onto the omega2?
cheers

You can disable wifimanager using the following commands
/etc/init.d/wifimanager stop /etc/init.d/wifimanager disable
I had a similar problem, see my post:

I have the same problem!!! My omega 2 becomes too hot and draws over 700mA on 3.3v... do you think that disabling wifi manager will solve the problem???
I use a professional bench power supply so i think that power supply isn't the problem...
