uci: I/O error

What is the cause of this error message?
This occurs on a "uci commit".
I will write up a ticket to get an explanation put in the docs at https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/intro-to-uci.html.

My guess would be you probably don't have a working writeable jffs(2?) overlay... probably the install state of your system has been broken a bit and you need to wipe it to the bare read-only partition and let it regenerate the writeable overlay
