Problems connecting to Omega2 through serial

  • So I bricked my Omega2 earlier this year with a bad firmware.

When I connect the Omega2 to my computer, it does recognize it at /dev/ttyUSB0. But when I try to connect to it using screen /dev/ttyUSB0, I only get a blank screen.

If I wiggle the connectors connected to rx0 and tx0 I get some random characters. But that's about it.

    What can I do?

  • A bad firmware will not prevent the MT7688 chip from producing serial output on initial boot. If you trigger a reset while connected, you should at least see something.

You may want to attempt a USB recovery in U-Boot.
