Omega doesn't to appear to be working

  • @William-Sikkema When you connect using putty, does it do anything if you press the ENTER key?

  • @Boken-Lin Not received Ethernet expansion you said you would send.

  • So if we have the same problem as Andrew-Donnely or Scott-Jordan, but did not get the network expansion dock what are our options? I had a ticket on the support sight but it has been closed and i've not gotten a response from them from my last question.

  • I've bricked mine by trying to custom build an image. I have an ethernet module but no expansion dock as I ordered the battery version which hasnt shipped yet. I can see the expansion module only has 4 pins that look to be connected so I just need the pinout of the expansion.

  • Hi @Scott-Jordan, we have sent out the shipment request to the fulfillment center. It can take up to 3 weeks for the package to arrive at the destination.

  • Hi @darryl-mays, I wasn't able to find anyone under your name in the ticket system. Would you be able to send me the ticket number? We just need to access what is the issue with the Omega. If the issue is as a result of the firmware not being flashed properly on the Omega, we will be sending you an ethernet expansion free of charge so you can use it to reflash the Omega to the correct firmware.

  • @Sawyer-McBride Please see the diagram below:

    Ethernet Exp Labelled

  • Thanks @Boken-Lin

  • @Boken-Lin OK, Thanks

  • @Boken-Lin
https://onion.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/155 is my ticket, initially an alias was put in the name field. I updated the profile.
Additionally I was able to log into it today using root/5up and get a busybox login successful message.

  • @darryl-mays Ok. Can you just confirm that your shipping address is the same? We will send you an ethernet expansion to re-flash your Omega. Seems that you have an expansion dock, so there should be no problem for you to use the ethernet expansion.

  • So whats the process? Just a case of hooking it up and getting into uboot and running?:

I dont get an LED on my switch and get the following:

Am I missing something? Ihave a minidock and so Im jamming the strands into the minidock female riser. Nothing seems to be touching the wrong thing

  • @Boken-Lin
shipping address would be the same,
    2009 oakdale ave
    Oregon oh 43616

  • @Sawyer-McBride You should connect the Omega to the Ethernet Expansion, and connect your computer to the Omega through ethernet cable. Then, you need to connect to the Omega via serial terminal and do the httpd thing. If the ethernet cable is connect to your computer properly, the Omega will now host a server at port 80 that allows you to upload the firmware binary via your browser at http://192.168.1.1.

  • @darryl-mays We have put in a request to have the ethernet expansion sent to you.

    Sorry about the inconvenience!

  • Same here... Two unities bought. Took long to arrive. After arriving, both are not working. I'm not an expert in such environment and there are several directions on how to solve it creating some confusion. Please create a fixed topic, or a tutorial, with clear steps on how to solve this issue. Since I paid for it, I would expect a WORKING device out of the box and not something that you have to fix it by yourself. At the moment, the level of frustration is so high that I gave up of any trial.

  • @Eduardo-Pereira, can you briefly describe what's the problem with each of the Omega?

  • @Boken-Lin On both boards: The amber led does not blink during startup and I cannot set it up via wifi. What is the solution for that? If I read this thread, there are several solutions, some works some not according to the people. What is the official statement and solution?

  • @Eduardo-Pereira Can you try to connect to it using serial terminal and copy and paste for me the output of your serial terminal? We first need to identify what the problem is.
