Thanks everyone, found the problem! It is my miniDock that was causing it. I try an extension dock and work perfectly. I'll test other miniDocks and will report later if this is general or just this one.

RE: Serial randomly add ASCII character (▒) to command line (FIXED)
@WereCatf I'm running Windows 7 (just add it) and none of all my Arduino/ESP8266 and other Micro controller have this behaviour. Do anyone else have this issue?

RE: Controlling WS2812 device (RGB LED strip)
@Lukas-Zeller Great, looking forward to hear from your test. I'm planning to install lots of LED STRIP (Addressable) in my house but didn't find a low cost controller expendable to connect all my sensors until I saw Omega1. Now with Omega2 power and even cheaper with Led Strip WS2813 sound like a perfect match for my project. Did you also look at the SK6812 who support RGBW (True white not RGB composite which take way less power)?

RE: ArtNET to DMX
@Lukas-Zeller Thank for the information, I'll look into this over the week-end.

ArtNET to DMX
Hi,
I have multiple RGB leds strip and pixel format spread around different project that I would like to control them via an Onion controller since it seem powerful enough to support it, wireless and cheap enough that I can have multiple Onion Node.
Anyone have seen where I can get ArtNet to DMX source code or package?
Thanks

RE: Comments/Suggestions for Building a Better Onion Community
@Paul-Wright @ramon-schepers +1 on more Categories. I also suggest more categories a month ago since I find very hard to browse specific topics on this forum.

RE: Anyone was able to install SAMBA Client (CIFS)?
@Kit-Bishop Thanks for replying and no need to apologies, help are always welcome in a community. I concluded the same answer that those packages will need to be recompile. In meantime, I also try install NFS but it didn't work for the same reason.

RE: Suggestion: Announcement, Categories & Roadmap.
Hi Boken,
No problem, those are suggesting and this is really your call. I personally found the Categories giving more a structure to a community and make it easy to browse general subject vs Tag system which is a great complement are used for specific word and searching.
As for the Announcement, my point was more toward how we get notify via the Blog instead of Community where we already have a notification system where we can watch thread. I believe you can still used the Blog and just have a thread that announce the new message with the link to the Blog. This way we can monitor it the thread and look at the blog.
For the roadmap I presume you mean December 2. Time fly

Suggestion: Announcement, Categories & Roadmap.
Hi,
As people are receiving more their Omegas and you officially closed the comments section in KickStarter (not monitoring anymore), here some suggestions:
-
Add Announcement category for all the new firmware and major news. ( Much easy to monitor)
-
Add more Categories to the community before it get too messy like: Firmware, Console, Docks (and maybe even one Categories per dock type if there is no sub-categories), Startup or Beginner, etc.
-
Add Roadmap page: We all know you are working very hard but maybe an official Roadmap should remove confusion and wrong expectation about the delivery even if it is rough estimation: Cloud, Firmware, Console, API, Library, etc. Btw I like the Shipping roadmap with Confidence of level, it give us a good indication of probability.
-
Update the Shipping Schedule: Any new update or confidence of level change? Even if there is no news, updating the page DATE will indicate that this is the latest update. (Latest update Nov 8. 2015)
Let me know what you think, Thanks.

Great Multi-tools for IoT connection: MobaXterm
Hi,
I thought I would like to share a great tool I been using for more than a year for all my IoT: Onion Omega, Raspberry PI, Arduino, Linux, etc. It is a great multi-protocols terminal / file transfer with great network tools inside, kind of Putty on steroid and it is FREE for mostly all features. It’s call MobaXterm ( http://mobaxterm.mobatek.net/ ).
It's included all protocols you need to connect to your Onion Omega and much more in the same tool.
- Serial
- Ssh
- SFTP / FTP Client
- DAEMON SERVER for FTP /TFTP / HTTP /SSH / Telnet / NFS / VNC / Cron.
- X Server
- Install package tools
- Etc..
Plus you have tools like:
- Network IP Scanner to find your device
- IP port to see which port it is open.
- And much more.
PS: I don't work or neither related to MobaXterm but I find it awesome to share it.

RE: Firmware upgrade problem
@Boken-Lin I was able to manage to do a Factory reset via the console (which is awesome btw) and this time the interface show up. If it crash again I send the file minus my personal info. So I'm good for now.
Thanks!

RE: Firmware upgrade problem
Hi,
My Omega was working fine but I thought that I should make sure I have the latest version so I did an update with the command line oupgrade but since it was on version xxx.215 (sorry I cant access anymore) it was recommending to used oupgrade -force to get the latest version.Similar to @Michael-Vowles, I got the same output:
killall: watchdog: no process killed
Sending TERM to remaining processes ... {process appear here}So I wait 30 minutes at least to make sure it complete his update but since them I can't connect anymore. So I did a reset button. The led went off, start blinking very fast for a few second, moderate for another few seconds and steady. Also try the power off/on but didn't work.
Since than I cant connect anymore. Did a few things to troubleshoot:
- Check for a WIFI OMEGA-xxxxxx in case it have done a factory reset. (No).
- Check my router/dhcp for any particular IP address it may have change.
- Run a Network IP Scanner (still nothing).
Unfortunately, I only received 1 OMEGA with a mini dock. So I'm stock presently waiting for 2 others Omega to arrive with the docs.
Is there a factory sequence button I can try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
