I have tried every variation of method I can find online and can't disable the AP on my Omega2. I am running the b159 firmware. I have tried lots of manual edits to /etc/config/wireless
and tried via the web console. The console doesn't have any kind of save button on the screen where you uncheck the box for Enable AP Mode
so it never seems to take. Please help!

Can't disable AP

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
So... to get mine to connect I had to create a new SSID that ONLY provides 2.4GHz. My normal one does both 2.4 ad 5 on the same SSID which seems to confuse the Omega2.

@WereCatf I'll give your network config a try this weekend, thanks!

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
@Zogg-Baubas I upgraded mine by using the serial console over USB. To do this, install the driver from and follow the directions on https://wiki.onion.io/Tutorials/Connecting-to-Omega-via-Serial-Terminal then do the steps below per http://community.onion.io/topic/1154/omega-2-usb-firmware-install-after-brick-resolved/2
- Download firmware file to USB flash drive
- Rename the file to Omega2.bin (this works for both Omega2 & Omega 2+)
- Connect PC to Omega 2 via device supporting USB to serial connectivity.
- Hold the reset button down and power on the omega.
- Select option #2, install firmware from USB.

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
No luck with this one either. I tried the "fix" in the other thread in
/etc/config/wireless
but it didn't work either. Below is what I see whey I tellwifimanager

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
I have now updated the firmware on the plus via usb serial to 0.1.7-b140 and tried it with and without the fw rule changes, no luck. Trying the non-plus model now.

@Zogg-Baubas No change... any other ideas?

@Zogg-Baubas I took a look at the file and it looks as though everything is already enabled (contents below). Can you be more specific about what I should try?

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
Will do. FWIW, I have also just finished trying on my second unit. The first is a Omega2+ and this one is the regular Omega2. Both are running firmware 0.1.5 b130.

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
Just had a thought... during first boot it didn't do any of the blinky stuff the guide talks about. The red light came on for a few seconds and then went off. The amber one is on without blinking from the get-go.

RE: Wifi connection problem with Omega2
I am having the same issue. I am using WPA2/AES and have also tried connecting using both the web and the cli. The only thing "special" about my home wifi is it's a DD-WRT setup that has both 2.4GHz and 5GHz on the same SSID. I am well versed in the Linux CLI so I am happy to try anything you want to resolve it.
