I am definitely going to try that next, but I think the problem may be specific to the Omega port of the Micropython library so I thought I would try here first.
Sorry I wasn't quite clear in my explanation. I have found a few examples showing how to change the PRESSED colour:
style.set_bg_color(lv.STATE.PRESSED, lv_colors.GRAY)
which works in the emulator but doesn't work on the Dash. I get errors saying that the object has no attribute 'set_bg_color' and there is no module 'lv_colors'.
Also this port doesn't have a textarea widget. So I am just wondering if there is any kind of documentation on what has been ported and what hasn't.
I have been playing around with LVGL and Micropython on the Dash and have had some success. I can't find much documentation on how to change styles in Micropython but I have been able to figure out how to change the main colour but cannot figure out how to change the colour when a button is pressed. Anyone have example code or know where there might be more complete LVGL Micropython documentation?

for whatever reason, I struggled for some time to get my own ethernet interface working with the Omega 2/2+. I wanted to make my own specific breakout with 2.1mm power, USB and ethernet in a minimal footprint. First, I tried using an RJ45 connector with a sperate magnetics package but could not get any of them working. I had immediate success with a MagJack (RJ45 with built-in magnetics). After that project, I then wanted to build a PoE version and came up with the schematic below which again uses a MagJack with the addition of a PoE module.
One of my requirements for any project is that the parts are easily accessible and will be available again in the future so this eliminates eBay, Alibaba, etc. To that end, all of these parts are available in North America from Digikey, Mouser, Adafruit, and others.

Hi All,
I will be using some Omegas where there is no connectivity at times and so will be installing an RTC. Reading and writing from/to the RTC is no problem however I am wondering what the exact mechanism is that the Onion uses to sync network time. Ideally I would like to see if a network time server is available and if so sync the system time and then update the RTC. If no server is available then have the system time set from the RTC. Failing that I would be happy to just turn off the network time sync and have the Omega just use the RTC as the source.

Hi Eric, I used the flash from USB method with firmware downloaded from the repository. The only challenges I ran into were that 1. I could never get the CP2102 driver to work on my mac so I had to switch to a Windows machine and 2. I actually had to read the instructions properly.
I cannot get v.0.2.0-b177 or b178 to boot successfully on my 2+. I can roll back to v0.1.10-b160. I have tried using both the oupgrade and the USB drive method. I have a couple of questions:
I can attach the console output if someone can tell me how to upload it correctly to this forum so that it appears as a scrollable code window rather than pasting a large amount of text.

While banging my head against a wall trying to get SPI to work, my Omega2 reset itself and has changed its MAC address. After it reset I noticed the wifi (Omega-C061) had changed to (Omega-00A8). I then ran the setup wizard and ran ifconfig and got the following:

That is definitely not a correct mac. Anyone have an ideas?

I have the same question. The current I2C library seems to have been written with a specific device in mind. Has anyone come up with a solution for this?
