Eagle layout for Omega2+ ??
-
I need to build breadboard compatible breakout boards for these dumb non-standard headers on the Omega..
Where can I find eagle components for this?
-
@Koos-du-Preez Here's an Eagle library which has Omega1 and Omega2 in it, plus a few other components such as the very affordable HLJ-6115ANL Ethernet connector with magnetics included.
I've been using this for some prototypes and had the PCBs made at oshpark.
The prototypes worked, so parts should be ok, but no guarantees…
PS: and don't ask me anything about Eagle - I've tried it only for that project, but moved to open source KiCAD since. Despite a few quirks I find KiCAD much easier to work with.

Where did you get these eagle files?
I made them myself using the eagle library editor

Nice, just used to create a basic shield, see this forum topic
Thanks for sharing this lib

@luz I have no idea how I could miss this, this is very nice!

For KiCAD users (as I've become one myself), here are KiCAD schematic and footprint libaries containing roughly the same parts. Like the eagle lib, these were used for prototypes and should be ok, but no guarantee.
Improvements and additions welcome

@luz Now all you need to do is to teach me how to actually use KiCad and I'll give your files a go...

Thank you for this. Longtime Eagle user, but I'm starting to learn Kicad as I think Eagle might have a limited future for me with their new ownership. Question though, where can you buy the headers? Does anyone have a digikey (or other supplier) part identification? I am building a new shield for a lighting/LED application, and don't want to solder the onion to the board, but rather, install via headers. I just can't find the headers it seems. Thanks in advance.

@Peter-Buelow I found some on Amazon, although they are a little short.

Thank you for the link, that looks about right, but how do you mean a little short?

@Peter-Buelow Take a look at these headers on eBay - they are the right length and correct 2mm pin spacing $5 for 10 pcs via epacket from China or $6 for 20 pcs, another seller But wait several days, for the end of Chinese New Years, to order.

I use both, OSHpark and Seeed Studio. Seeed Studio pcb manufacturing actually has really good customer service, and their quality has been better than OSHpark in my opinion. I usually get my boards within 7 business days
