@valerionew ok, thank you for the speedy reply and the info.

@valerionew, i completed populating the board. the regulator is warm to touch however the power led does not light up. when i tried with omega2+ in headers there was also no power led on the omega2+. so, do you have any suggestion or tips on debugging what appears to be an issue with my power circuit? thanks.

@Douglas-Kryder
Can you post some photos of the component side?
After plugging the usb you should measure the voltage on the regulator's pinsBTW don't insert the omega in the dock again before we resolve this power supply issue.

ok, i'll post some pictures when i get back home. the regulator does has voltage in of 5.1v & voltage out of 3.265v. i bought 5 of the regulators and all of them show ~3.265v out when hooked to my power supply and voltage in of 5v.. i wondered if that could be it, but ~.035 less voltage [~1%] should be enough i would think. i could not find an absolute min voltage needed to power anywhere. U1 also shows 3.2v. ok, thanks for reply.
edit: a friend took a look at it after lunch and said that the female headers on each side had issues with too much solder, did not surprise me since i have not done many 1.00mm pitch headers anyway he removed them but did not have any 1.00mm. so i have to place those. my friend also mentioned i should go back over the solder work. so i got some rework to do. looking forward to reading your comments valerionew.

@Douglas-Kryder Well.. the cause for the led not powering up i think that would be the fact that you have a capacitor instead of a resistor on R5.
But you said that neither the omega is powering on. I'd look for shorts and solder bridges on the board. E.g. on the microusb connecctor seems like that on the first two pins (from left to right in the picture you posted) there is a solder bridge. It will be easy to clean with a solder wick.
Did you tested the regulator in circuit?3.2 or 3.4 wouldn't make that much difference, don't worry.

@valerionew ok, thanks for looking. feel stupid about R5, should have never happened & should have noticed. the short you mention on usb i think was just a small metal tab coming off the top of the metal casing due to photo angle looked like a bridge. but after taking care of R5, power LED now lights up. I will do the headers tonight & report.

@Douglas-Kryder
Check that you have 3.3v on the correct pins prior to inserting the omega in the dock!

Is it available for purchase? Assembled / soldered one.

@Sekar-Pdkt
Contact me via PM, i may have one or two assembled

Today i've done a factory reset. To respond to your question about setup: you'll also need to follow this guide https://docs.onion.io/omega2-docs/using-ethernet-expansion.html#using-ethernet-expansion to set up internet access via ethernet.
-
@valerionew , yes, you are correct. prior to building a copy of your dock\new i had used a simple rj45 dongle thru usb on expansion dock. first tim i plugged it in i was surprised a bit that omega2+ had recognized it but i found that the action on that web page you link was necessary for the dongle so in building the dock\new i assumed it would be necessary but i was not positive. anyway, thank you for mentioning it.

@valerionew Any update on the project?

@Valerio-Backslashnew Any updated on the project?

@Wojciech-Kapelinski The project is released on github, at the moment i'm not planning to do any new version

It is awesome. Functional and small. If your project no need to GPio it is perfect for connectivity. USB + wifi + ethernet.
The next version you can add usb to serial converter for connecting Omega2 on USB OTG.
CH340e
https://www.cnx-software.com/2017/10/31/wch-ch340e-is-a-tiny-10-pin-serial-to-usb-chip/I think you can place it under RJ45 conn or move lm1117 a bit and place there . RX TX and OTG usb d+ and d- pin you need.
Good working.
