AP mode selecting same channel as Home Router
-
I have an Omega2+ connected to my home router via STA (JAZZTEL is the home router wifi). All good.
At the same time Onion is configured to show another wifi (AP mode) called FellixSmart2. The wifi is accessible and all is good... more or less!
I've noticed today that the AP wifi is always selecting the wifi channel of the home router... this might be a source of interferences and bad performance for Onion.
More interesting. If I manually change the channel of the home router, the AP wifi automatically changes to select the same WIFI channel...

Any ideas?

Since the code of Warp Core is not open we can only guess as to the cause. My guess would be that since there is no way to disable the AP without disabling Wifi client, they are likely sharing some underlying code. So when your client connects to the home wifi on channel 11, the AP uses the same channel. You can confirm this by disconnecting from your home wifi and checking what channel the AP will now utilise.

@crispyoz Thanks. That makes sense because we (by default we all) are using bridged AP mode https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/bridgedap
I'm going to try to setup my onion as a router AP https://openwrt.org/docs/guide-user/network/wifi/routedap and I'll let you know guys...

@Lucas-Gozalvez It's not a bug of your Omega2+ - it's
a featurean attribute of each Omega2(+).

@György-Farkas Certainly not a bug, but I would not consider it a "feature" but rather it is an attribute.
