Omega2 boots but suddenly disappears from wifi?
-
Hello,
i'm not using Omega2 dock.
I hooked The Omega2 to 3.3V, constant PS, and it boots ok, i find it's wi-fi network present but as i try to connect with that 12345678 pwd it suddenly disappears from the air.
And strangely enough i have two Omega2 and it's same on both devices.
Any idea what is going wrong?

@nardev Can you measure the power consumption to make sure it's sufficient? And what about the serial interface and systems logs? Any hints hidden in those?

When WiFi kicks in there is a larger current draw. I suspect your power supply is not suitable.

@Costas-Costas i think you are right...
p.s. Although i don't remember ordering it, i got two docks from "controleverything.com" and power through them works ok.. and the device.. thnx.

@fossette What is the requirement?

@Ted-Neff The Omega2, from what I've seen, can spike up to 250mA when initializing WiFi -- this is, however, without any SD-cards or USB-sticks or anything else connected to it, so you have to take those into account, too. I'd say a 500mA power-supply or better should be fine, and slap a goodly capacitor on it, if it ain't got any.

@WereCatf That doesn't explain my problem then, my power supply is 700mA. I am trying to power just the Omega2, no dock etc.
