Omega Hardware Documentation

@T-NT lol, that's what the battery dock is supposed to be. You can use it and charge the battery at the same time. Just gotta ship it to you guys.
-
So, just to get this right. You can run the omega with a 1s LiPo? Fully charged that's 4.2V.
-
@Egon-Windhager We have a voltage regulator on the battery dock. On the expansion dock, you need to go through the 5V micro USB port.
-
OK, but what if I want to run it without a dock?
-
@Egon-Windhager If you can supply 3.3V to the Omega itself, then you can run it without a Dock.
-
Just add a 3.3v voltage regulator between the battery and the Omega.
-
Got it. I need a voltage regulator. I was hoping you could power it like an arduino, which has an onboard voltage regulator.
-
@Egon-Windhager No, unfortunately we do not. It's something we can consider for future versions, though.
-
@Lazar-Demin What pin on the expansion dock is the 5V Vin?
-
@Craig-Soich You can connect a 5V power supply to either of the 5V and GND pins on the Expansion Dock and it will supply power to the Omega and Dock.

Schematics
I am looking for Schematics as well... for the main onion board and the dev and dock boards?
Any idea when or if they will be released?cheers,
Dan

@dan-braun We're making a few changes to it to address some problems we've encountered during manufacturing. We should be able to organize it and make it ready in the next couple of weeks.

@Boken-Lin Posting this purely to keep visibility of this topic.
While fully appreciating that you Omega people have a lot of work on your plate, I am more and more feeling the lack of documentation on the Omega hardware, particularly:- Schematics
- Electrical specs etc.
I think that having these would be of great benefit to the Omega community to:
a. Facilitate better experimentation with and usage of the Omega
b. Minimise the multiple small questions that get asked in relation to the hardware
-
@Kit-Bishop Yup, totally agree. We are already preparing them, and they will be uploaded soon!
-
@Boken-Lin Thanks - sorry to be bothering you about this. Presumably something will be posted to notify when they are available.
-
@Kit-Bishop No problem at all I wish we had more time and resources so we can get all the documentation and tutorials up for you guys.
