Omega2 very hot

I noticed that my Omega2 immediately after switching on heats up to 60 degrees Celsius (metal cover). Don't touch it. Is this the norm? It seems to me that it was less hot before.

@CAP-33 That seems very hot, mine are typically 37-41C . I have seen this before when the SOC had bad GND on my custom board. The other cause of high temperature can be load, what is the CPU load according to top?

@CAP-33 That all looks pretty innocuous to me, seems it must be a hardware issue, is this an Omega2+ or a 2S+ ?
If it's a 2+ do you have another dock to try? If a 2S+ I suggest check the connection on each of the pins.

@crispyoz I am connecting Omega-2 + via a homemade board (3.3v to vin). Now I connected it to Power dock 2. The metal cover is also very hot (burns finger). I remember that some time ago I could safely touch the lid for a long time. Current consumption approx. 500 mA

@CAP-33 Omega2+ is not that hot to burn your fingers. Your top output looks like a standard firmware, but it is possible that loadable modules can impact upon the load. Are you running Onion's latest firmware with no customisation? if not then this would be my first step, then see if this fixes the issue.
How are you powering the dock?
The best way to troubleshoot this is to bring everything back to standard. Standard firmware, powered from USB port of your computer.
If after this it is still very hot, I think it may be a faulty device.
