The new Console release is here!

Great work! I'm happy to see that this product isn't forgotten after being shipped, but actively worked on.
Yes, it was a very good idea to back this up. Thumbs up for everybody working on this!BR

So far there has only been one correct guess for the inspiration behind the Ando codename!
Keep those guesses coming for another week and then we'll give out the prizes
-
When I first got my Omega, I ran the Setup Wizard (Chrome, Mac). I updated the firmware to get the Console, but found that I still got the Setup Wizard at http://Omega-ABCD.local. It took me a bit to realize I was looking at a cached version in my browser. I performed a force refresh (hold down Control and click refresh) and the Console came up. This might be worth mentioning in the firmware update docs.
-
@Mark-Larson Totally agree. This is an easily avoided pothole that should be in the docs. You can switch browsers, that's what I did.
-
@Mark-Larson ok, we'll make sure to add that to the docs!
Also, we've just gotten our second correct codename guess! Only one more prize left!
-
We've fixed the issues with the GPIO app, upgrade to the latest firmware to grab the fixes!
-
@Lazar-Demin Ok, so now the initial setting works. But try to transition the pin back to 'input' after setting it to 'output' + 'a value'. Will the old hack still work in that case? I tried this on GPIO1.
-
@Lazar-Demin yeah, old hack doesn't seem to work
-
@Theodore-Borromeo it should work with no hacks required now! going from 'output' -> 'input' should just require changing the Direction in the drop-down menu and a press of the Sync button.
Let me know how it goes.
-
@Lazar-Demin I haven't tested it, but quick question:
Does setting a pin as input and as a 1 cause a pull-up circuit? If not, then perhaps the software should just disallow level setting when the pin is an input
-
@Theodore-Borromeo the Value drop-down menu isn't clickable when the Direction is set to Input. Clicking Sync will take a reading of the pin's current value and then display it.
-
Still have one more prize left for the codename contest! We'll give you guys until midnight tmrw, Monday, November 23rd to keep guessing!
-
Ok so the codename contest is officially over!
The Ando codename is ... drumroll
In honour of Momofuku Ando, the inventor of instant noodles!
We had some great (and very creative) guesses but it looks like only @Maurice and @Onion-Rings like instant noodles as much as we do!
You guys each win an Onion T-Shirt!!
Choose between the classic:
And the blueprint:
And then shoot us an email at hello@onion.io with your shipping information!
Thank you to everyone who participated! Look out for more contests soon!
-
i would appreciate if you can list up a changelog from build to build.
-
@nico-Sachs Good idea. We will do that for the next release on Monday!
-
@Lazar-Demin awesome!

Well I can't say I would ever have guessed that but then again if he is responsible for the creation of the Pot Noodle
then he has a lot to answer for
