the interesting part is that i AM connected to internet via the Onion2+
(means the onion actually sees the net BUT when i go to cloud.onion.io the status of my device is offline and i have the message "Cannot send commands to an offline device)
-
After some investigation on the docs i was able to connect via SCP to the Onion2
here is what i see. is there a way to manually restore my Onion via file upload ?
-
@frederic-raducki Is it Omega2 or Omega2+?
-
@WereCatf 2+

@frederic-raducki Download http://repo.onion.io/omega2/images/omega2p-v0.1.8-b145.bin and upload it to your Omega2's /tmp-directory, then log in to your Omega2 with SSH (e.g. PuTTY is a good SSH-client) and execute the following commands:
cd /tmp sysupgrade -n omega2p*.bin
That should reset all settings and upgrade the firmware to the latest available.

@WereCatf thanks for your quick answer
damn i'm trying to install the CP210x_VCP_Windows drivers so that Putty can communicate with the Omega but i can't make this driver nor COM appear in my computer devices manager.
is there a way to do the putty thing using such usb dongle i have :
http://www.electronshik.ru/e_images/2/20121228_094651_500.jpeg ?
-
Ok so i managed to install properly this driver.
Prolific usb to serial appeared as COM5 without any warning.using Putty i opened a serial connexion on COM5 but then this is the only thing i obtain :
a prompt on which i can do absolutely nothing
any ideas ?
-
@frederic-raducki I said SSH, I didn't say anything about serial. Since SCP works, you can just as well use SSH.
-
@WereCatf my bad i invented things you didn't suggest
i will try that tomorrow and will tell in the thread if it worked for me to restore my omega2+
thanks a lot for your precious help up to this point anyway !
cheers
